. . . . . . HOW TO REPAIR EXISTING CLAY BLOCKS, HOME PLATE OR MOUND . . . . . .

1. Remove all loose material from mound surface (Turface, stone, dust, etc).

2. Loosen existing clay using pick axe, corner of a spade or diamond hoe.

3. Use mound guage to check slope of mound before adding new clay. Add bagged material to low areas and compact using hand tamp.

4. Wrap tamp in plastic to prevent new clay from sticking to tool or cut clay bricks into thin strips using straight edge spade, diamond hoe, etc.

    5. Depending on moisture, light water may needed to be added to increase bonding.  Water should be added judiciously. Use hand-held watering can to sprinkle water.  If too much water is added, use more mound clay to absorb water.

NOTE:  Use either blocks or bagged clay. The method you prefer to work with is the best one. Cover mound to hold moisture following repairs
